Sexual Health Week

Sexual Health Week

Sexual Health Week is an annual opportunity to talk openly about sexual health, wellbeing, and relationships – without judgement, stigma, or shame. It’s a time to learn and take positive steps to look after yourself and the people you care about.

Sexual health is more than just about STIs. It includes physical health, emotional wellbeing, respectful relationships, informed decision making, and feeling empowered in your sexuality, body, and sexual choices.

In 2026, Sexual Health Week will take place from Sunday, February 9, to Saturday, February 15. The theme for 2026 is “Culture and Connection”, which recognises that sexual health is shaped by our cultures, communities, and connections. This theme champions culturally safe conversations, community leadership, and mutual respect, recognising that connection strengthens collective sexual health and belonging.

Why Sexual Health Week Matters

Good sexual health supports overall wellbeing at every stage of life. It can impact confidence, relationships, mental health, and quality of life.

Looking after your sexual health means:

  • Having access to accurate, reliable information

  • Feeling confident to ask questions and seek support

  • Getting regular sexual health check-ups and testing

  • Practising consent, communication, and respect

  • Knowing your options for prevention, care, and treatment

Everyone deserves to feel informed, supported, and respected when it comes to their sexual health, and Sexual Health Week is an opportunity to learn more about your sexual health.

Sexual Health Week: A Time to Check In

Sexual Health Week is a great time to:

  • Book a sexual health check or test

  • Learn something new about your body or relationships

  • Start a conversation with a partner or healthcare provider

  • Access support services if something doesn’t feel right

  • Challenge myths, stigma, and misinformation

Small actions can make a big difference.
