CORPORATE VOLUNTEERING
Our corporate volunteering opportunities are a fun and flexible way to support WAACs mission of creating positive healthy people in inclusive, connected communities.
By becoming a WAAC Corporate Volunteer, your team will gain valuable experiences while demonstrating corporate social responsibility, promoting teamwork and increasing employee satisfaction.
Your team can support WAAC to promote sexual health and inclusion by:
Safe Sex Packing
Pack condoms and lube sachets wrapped in humorous, WAAC-designed packaging that WAAC give for free to organisations and events that need them.
Badge Making
Make badges to address stigma and discrimination in the LGBTIQA+ or HIV community. These designs are brought along in their printed form that your staff can cut out and press into badges that we give out to organisations and events.
Ribbon Making
The famous red HIV ribbon is a moving symbol of solidarity and awareness. Ribbons and pins are bought for your staff to create the pins which are used by WAAC at important events as gifts, prizes or worn as part of our uniform.
Our corporate group volunteering sessions generally run for half a day (4 hours), with a break for a leg stretch and refreshments. Your team can come to us at our central West Perth office (available for groups up to 12), or we can come to you (available for small and large groups).
WAAC will set up the space (your office or ours) with music, activities, banners, resources and educational materials. All volunteering activities are led by a knowledgeable WAAC staff member who will engage your team with discussions around the work we do, including historical and current issues related to HIV, STIs and BBVs and how to be an LGBTIQA+ ally.
