Sarah - Metro Perth
SARAH
Hey, I’m Sarah (she/they). I am one of youth counsellors for Perth metro based at the Freedom Centre, and I have been in this role for 3 years. I provide support for young people to explore their gender and sexuality, as well as providing a safe space to talk about sexual health, relationships and mental health concerns. I LOVE talking and reading about gender. Outside of work I can be found teaching a very special yoga class, hanging out with my family of rescue animals which includes chickens, dogs and a cat I found at the train station. I also enjoy hunting out great vegan food.
Orion - Metro Perth
ORION
Hi, I’m Orion (he/they), one of the counsellors here at Freedom! I also facilitate the Be Queer, Do Craft art groups on a Tuesday. I provide support and a safe space for young people to talk about issues related to gender and sexuality as well as other mental health concerns. I love being able to create a safe and accessible space for clients by utilising art, crafts and conversation to support their needs. Outside of the office, you can finding me relaxing at home with my three cats, crystals, and a good cup of tea.
Marcus - Regional WA
MARCUS
I’m Marcus (he/him). I’m one of the counsellors with Freedom State, providing counselling support to LGBTQIA+ youth living in Regional WA. I am trained as a social worker and have worked for more than ten years as a therapist, with a focus in recovering from trauma and understanding how experiences of discrimination impact upon people’s mental health.
I have a particular interest in supporting people who are often silenced to have a voice, both in the counselling session and in their lives, and to strengthen the presence of healthy, supportive relationships in a person’s life.
Alexandra - Regional WA
Alexandra
Hi! I’m Alexandra, one of the LGBTIQA+ youth counsellors for Freedom State – where through the internet I am able to access regional young people who need to talk through their experience in a safe and non-judgmental space. I love nature and taking my shoes off and touching the earth, op-shopping, roller-skating and hot sauce, but unfortunatley I can’t handle spice so that is a tough one!
