Youth sexual health education

For the last four decades, WAAC has delivered free sexual health education sessions to tens of thousands of people across Western Australia.

Surveys completed with WA high school leavers in 2020 showed that many young Australians hold false beliefs about sexual health, which may lead to poor health outcomes.

Our goal is to equip people with the knowledge they need to make safer and informed choices. Everyone has the right to have sex with the people they want and experience pleasure, safety and respect.

We work to empower that by educating on the risks (and joys) around sex and by giving people the knowledge they need to take care of themselves.

Our free education sessions are delivered by trained health promotion experts and are available to a range of groups and services across WA, including:

  • Schools
  • Alternative education centres,
  • Universities and TAFEs
  • Community groups
  • Non-profit organisations
  • Youth services
  • Mental health services
  • Alcohol and other drug services

These sessions include:
